NOTE: A non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 in cash or check (made payable to Hopewell Mennonite Church) must be included for each child before the registration will be accepted.

Hopewell Preschool Ministry serves God and the community by welcoming children in Jesus’ name, educating, and nurturing each child in partnership with families.
Education Philosophy
The purpose of our Ministry is to promote learning and encourage strong social, physical, spiritual, and mental development of each child. Through play, children explore their world and find excitement and pleasure in creating and experiencing with their senses. Through play, children’s minds, bodies and emotions develop. Believing this, our goal is to organize and direct play experiences in such a way that children learn concepts which are the foundation for future success.
Staffing and Ministry
We only seek employees who benefit your child by challenging their intellectual ability as well as their problem-solving skills. Selection of staff is a top priority at Hopewell Preschool Ministry. Our staff members are Christian people who love Jesus! On occasion, a substitute may be hired to fill in for a faculty member due to unforeseen circumstances. These temporary replacements will be hired with the utmost care, as are the long-term workers. Each employee has undergone a criminal history background check and central registry check to insure the safety of your child. You are encouraged to speak with the director, or the teacher personally, if you have questions about a teacher’s qualifications.
Program Availability
Beginners: Children enrolling the Beginners Classes must be 3 years old on or before July 31. A maximum of 15 children will be accepted in each of two classes which will meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 8:30 – 10:45 am.
Pre-kindergarten: Children enrolling in the Pre-kindergarten classes must be be 4 years old on or before July 31. A maximum of 15 children will be accepted in each of two classes which will meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:30 – 10:45 am.
The Hopewell Preschool Ministry will follow the same holiday schedule as Kouts Elementary School. When Kouts Elementary is closed, we will be closed as well. Closings will be listed in the HPM newsletter. The school year will begin on the Tuesday after Labor Day and end on the Friday before Memorial Day.
PLEASE NOTE: In the event that the East Porter County School Corporation is on a two-hour delay, or closes due to inclement weather, Hopewell Preschool Ministry will be closed as well. HOWEVER, IF THE DELAY IS DUE TO FOG, HOPEWELL PRESCHOOL MINISTRY WILL HOLD CLASSES AND BEGIN AT 9:30 AM.
Financial Information
A non-refundable fee of $50.00 is required at the time of registration. The fee covers processing of the application, and some of the costs for supplies during the year.
ALL TUITION IS DUE THE 1ST OF EACH MONTH. A $10 LATE FEE WILL BE ASSESSED FOR ANY PAYMENTS RECEIVED AFTER THE 10TH OF THE MONTH. (Beginning with the 2012-13 school year, a late fee of 10% of the unpaid balance as of the 10th of the month will be charged.)
Tuition for Beginners is $80.00 per month.
Tuition for Pre-kindergarten is $100 per month. (This fee will increase to $110 per month for the 2012-13 school year)
Monthly tuition payments remain the same each month regardless of the number of days the child attends. An insufficient check fee of $20.00 will be assessed per occurrence. Two occurrences will result in acceptance of cash or money orders only.

A Preschool Parent Handbook has been prepared for those whose children attend Hopewell Preschool Ministry which contains information regarding educational philosophy, staff, policies, and procedures. It is imperative these guidelines be applied and upheld fully and equally by all parties in the interest of fairness, and to preserve the integrity of the program.
